Soldiers Ghosts, words and music by Paul Landsittel © 1998

I remember the first time we ever jammed together,
In that little cabin, above Conifer,
The air so cold outside as it blew through the pines,
But the kitchen pickin’ warmed our hearts and souls,

We played and played for hours at a time,
And for a time seemed like nothing else mattered,
Always searching for that peak experience
That only music can give,

CHORUS:
And you said “give me my guitar, I’m going to dance the devils away,
Awaaaaaaaaaaaay

You said you lost your band when you went to Viet Nam,
Where angels held you close under fire,
You became a Buddhist, a biker, a musician and a friend,
Then we lead the charge of the Light Brigade,
(CHORUS)

We used to call our rehearsals – therapy sessions,
Just to play the things we could not say in words,
If for nothing else than just to work out our aggressions,
When the night was on our side,
(CHORUS)

Some of us are born with the warrior energy,
And don’t know what to do in times of peace,
When the only battles left are the ones inside yourself,
The fight is on, for your soul’s release,
(CHORUS)
